Karen Silton Handcrafted ceramic jewelry

Karen Silton Jewelry

Each dog breed is extensively researched, drawn and redrawn and eventually made into a first clay model. Layer upon layer is added and sculpted until the authentic likeness is achieved. Then a permanent mold is made from plaster. Karen makes everything herself, including sculpting the figures.

Clay pieces are then cast from a mold, handpainted and fired in a kiln three times. The final firing includes a very delicate painted on application of liquid 24ct. gold around the outside rim of each piece. The vibrancy and quality is enchanced by the numerous steps each piece goes through until completion.

Lastly, each handcrafted piece of jewelry comes mounted on a beautifully handwritten card which describes briefly the particular characteristics of the breed.

Because each piece is handpainted, Karen can offer custom painting of special markings and coat colors for your dog.
